The Cape Peninsula University of Technology, known as CPUT, has published its application fee policy for the 2026 academic year. This application or handling fee applies to any individual applying for undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications at the university. Payment is required before the closing date for your application to be considered. Who Pays the Cape Peninsula University of Technology Application Fee?
Any individual applying to study at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology for the 2026 academic year using the paper-based application form (hard copy) must pay the application fee as follows:
- Manual Applications: R100
- Late applications: R150
Payment Deadline: Must be paid before the application deadline
Exemptions:
- CPUT offers free online applications, meaning all online applicants are exempt from paying the application fee.

Cape Peninsula University of Technology Payment Deadline
The Cape Peninsula University of Technology will accept applications and application fees for the 2026 academic year between May 12, 2025, and September 30, 2025. The application deadline is normally on the same day as the application fee payment deadline. After the application is closed, you will be unable to pay for it.
Mode of Payment
You can pay the application fee using one of the following methods:
Cash payment: Cash can be made directly at the cashier’s office on your preferred campus.
Bank Deposit: You may deposit the fee at any ABSA Bank branch. Use the following banking details:

- Branch code: 632005
- Reference: ID number or Student number, Surname and Initials
Important Notes:
- Please attach a copy of the deposit slip or proof of payment.
- All cheques postal orders, and bank drafts must be made to the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. The applicant’s name and surname must be written on the back.
- For EFTs, use the applicant’s student number as the reference (please attach proof of payment).
- There is no refund for application fees.
- Allow two business days for the payment to reflect
- Your application will not be processed until they receive the fee.
