Coastal TVET College Applications Are Now Open (Limited Intake!)

Calling all ambitious individuals seeking vocational and technical excellence! Coastal TVET College is open for applications for the 2025-2026 academic year, but act fast, as opportunities are limited!

Mark your calendars: applications commence on April 1, 2024, and close firmly on September 30, 2024. Due to high demand and a finite number of available courses, there is no second application window anticipated for this academic year.

Coastal TVET College Application Fee

Coastal TVET College in South Africa doesn’t charge a separate application fee, but their tuition fees differ depending on several factors:

Program Type:

NCV (National Certificate Vocational): Students who don’t qualify for financial aid (NSFAS) must pay a minimum deposit of R2,000 on registration, followed by installments.

Nated (Report 191):

  • Engineering studies: Non-NSFAS students need to pay the full course fee on registration.
  • Business & General Studies: Non-NSFAS students can either pay the full fee or a minimum of 50% on registration and the remaining balance at the start of the next term.

NSFAS Bursary: Students who qualify for the NSFAS bursary won’t pay tuition fees. However, be aware that not all eligible students get the bursary due to limited funding.

Application Procedures at Coastal Tvet College and How to Apply Online for the First Time

Phase 1: Placement/Screening Test:

A candidate must first take the screening test to select a course before applying to Coastal TVET College. The applicant cannot proceed unless he or she passes the placement test. To accomplish this, follow the steps outlined below.

  • Visit the school’s webpage at ‘coastalkzn.co.za‘.
  • On the main webpage of the school, scroll down, and on the right side, select “click here” next to the placement for new students option.
  • As first-time applicants, create an account by choosing the right option
  • On the page that opens up, enter the institutional details by choosing the campus, group, and subgroup to proceed from the respective drop boxes
  • Enter your personal details
  • Provide a strong password
  • To use the service, you must click the “Yes, I Agree” box in order to proceed with the assessments.

Note: You cannot proceed if you skip a question. You are to answer all the assessment questions. 

  • After answering the 90 given questions, click on the Finished tab to submit your report.

Phase 2: Application Process: This is a step-by-step procedure on how to apply to Coastal TVET College.

  • Visit the school’s website once more.
  • There is an option for all new applicants beneath the screening option.
  • Select the “Apply here” option.
  • To begin, a comprehensive web portal will be available on the college’s page.
  • As new applicants, select No to the questions listed in the drop box.
  • This is where you create or register an account in order to obtain your student number.
  • Choose your courses with at least one campus in mind.
  • Upload the necessary documents in the correct format.
  • Submit your application for consideration.
  • Return to the portal in a few weeks to track your application by entering your student number and PIN.

Phase 3: Application Documents: Be sure to upload all the documents asked for when applying. Documents may include:

  • A copy of the South African ID card with the number.
  • An international applicant should issue a valid passport from their country of origin.
  • Academic transcript from high school or college.
  • A copy of the academic results.
  • A copy of the parent or guardian ID.
  • A copy of the next-of-kin ID and residential address.
  • International applicants should attach English-sworn translation documents.
