NMU hereby invites all potential students to complete the online application form on the official website, www.nmu.ac.za. You have until September 30, 2025, to submit all required documents, even though some courses have an earlier deadline.

Nelson Mandela University (NMU) will accept applications for 2026 beginning April 1, 2025. Depending on the course you are interested in, you may have until September 30, 2025, to complete all essential forms, however, certain Nelson Mandela University courses have earlier deadlines. Documents Required to Apply to Nelson Mandela University:

The following documents must be submitted with your 2026 online application for it to be considered valid for admission.

  • A certified copy of your final Grade 11 exam results or
  • A certified copy of your most recent Grade 12 (June/Sept) exam results (no March results), or
  • A certified copy of your matriculation certificate or statement of results if you have already passed Grade 12 or completed schooling,
  • A certified copy of your diploma or degree certificates, plus academic record(s) and certificate(s) of conduct if you have studied elsewhere,
  • A certified copy of your ID (birth certificate if still waiting for ID),
  • A certified copy of the identity document of your parent, legal guardian, or surety,
  • Declaration by your parent, legal guardian, or surety if you are a dependent, currently at school, or studying at a tertiary institution, or have recently left school and do not have or will not have permanent employment when applying to or studying at the university.
