Wonderful news for everyone who wants to study at DUT! Durban University of Technology (DUT) is presently accepting undergraduate and graduate applications for the academic year 2026. All students, domestic and international, are welcome to apply
The online application portal will be open from Tuesday, April 1, 2025, to Sunday, November 30, 2024. Be sure to gather all required documents and visit www.dut.ac.za to begin your application. You can either fill out the online form directly or download it for manual completion
Applying for a study course at DUT for 2026
Students who wish to apply for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs should do so separately for the academic year 2026 and provide the necessary documentation for each. Applicants will, however, only pay one application fee for both qualifications.

Undergraduate Applicants:
Application Deadline: Submit your complete application by Sunday, November 30, 2025.
Postgraduate Applicants:
Application Deadline: Be sure to submit your application by Friday, October 31, 2025.
Avoid Rejection:
Complete documentation is crucial. Missing the required documents will automatically disqualify your application. Ensure you submit everything within two months of starting your application.
Competitive Admissions:
Remember, DUT receives more applications than available places. Meeting the eligibility requirements doesn’t guarantee acceptance.

Application Fee
South African applicants to Durban University of Technology (DUT) are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of R250.00, while international applicants must pay an R300 non-refundable fee. When making the payment, it’s important to use your student ID number as the reference. To ensure your application is considered, make sure to apply before the deadlines, as late applications will not be accepted. DUT will only accept applications between April 1 and November 30, 2025.
The Durban University of Technology Application Requirements For 2026
Below are the documents to be attached for undergraduate and postgraduate Applicants
- Transcripts for grades 11 and 12, final certificates for grades 11 and 12 (June/Trial report if you haven’t taken your final test), and your identity document must all be uploaded in certified copies
- Proof of payment of the compulsory and non-refundable application fee
Postgraduate
- Matric exemption certificate (including subject marks)
- ID document passport, work permit or Study permit
- Diploma/Degree certificate/s
- Comprehensive academic record (indicating marks obtained for subjects)
- Certificate of registration with the relevant professional council (if applicable)
- Letter of appointment as a registrar with a date of assumption of duty: applicants for M Med and M Dent students NB: letter from the employer, e.g. Hospital HR.
- Motivational letter and CV (for Health applicants only)
- Medical aid (Non-South Africans)
- Students with non-South African qualifications must attach a SAQA evaluation certificate with their previous degrees obtained

How to manually apply for DUT for 2026 academic intake
Download the application form from www.cao.ac.za and submit it. Fill out the form completely, answering all questions in black ink (pen). Check that the names on your identity document (ID) and certificates are the same and in the same order, and include the aforementioned documents before submitting them to the Central Application Office.
How to Apply for DUT Online Application 2026
- A prospective student interested in studying at DUT should apply through the CAO, which can be found at www.cao.ac.za.)
- Please complete the CAO application form online and attach or upload certified copies of your identity document as well as your final Grade 11 and Grade 12 certificates (June/Trial Report if you have not yet written your final exams).
- For Higher Certificate, Diploma, and Degree programs, the application form must be received by the CAO office before the deadline of September 30, 2025.
