UWC Application Deadlines For 2025: Don’t Miss Out on Your Program
Attention prospective University of the Western Cape students! Here’s a quick rundown of application deadlines for the 2025–2026 academic year:
- General Application Deadline: September 30, 2024 (Submit all documents by this date!)
- Dentistry & Oral Health/School of Government: August 31, 2024 (Apply early for these competitive programs!)
- BA Honours Sports/Biokinetics and BSc Honours Biokinetics: July 31, 2024 (Don’t delay if these fields interest you!)
Registration Fees Waived for 2025 Applicants at the University of the Western Cape
The University of the Western Cape is excited to announce that there will be no registration or application fee for incoming students in 2025! This means that accepted applicants can focus on preparing for their academic journey without the financial burden of a registration fee.

- You’ll receive a confirmation email with further instructions within 24-48 hours.
Do you prefer paper-based applications? Manual Application
- Download the application form, fill it out with ink, and submit it via email or hand delivery to the admissions office.
- Please note that this method may take longer for your application to reach the review stage.
How to Apply Online to the University of the Western Cape (UWC) 2025
To apply during the University of the Western Cape’s 2025–2026 academic year application period, follow the instructions below.

STEP 3: FILL OUT YOUR APPLICATION
- Fill in the information required.
- indicate the year of application
- select your qualification
STEP 4: UPLOAD THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Gather your documents or upload further or outstanding documents. These documents must be in the format required by the university.
- Supporting documents are:
- A certified copy of your ID document (for South African nationals, an ID document is required; your application will not be processed unless you provide a certified copy of your ID and your passport number for international applicants).
- Exam Outcomes: Grade 12 final results (if available). The results of grade 11 (if you are now in grade 12) are crucial to your application. As a result, keep it on hand.

STEP 5: SUBMIT YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION
- Submit your completed online application form and documents after reviewing them. Click on “submit” to submit your application for review by UWC.
How to UPLOAD Required Documents
- Log in with your application number to upload important application materials.
- You must log in using your student number if you are a current student and need to upload a copy of your ID document.

If you are applying from another institution of higher learning, applications for transfer in 2025 close on September 30, 2024.

- Certified copy of your NSC Certificate or Senior Certificate
- A certified copy of your Identification document
- Certified Certificate of good conduct from your current or previous institution

- Module content / Yearbook descriptor from your institution for all modules completed
- Certified Degree certificate (if applicable)
University of the Western Cape International Applications for 2025
Prospective international students must adhere to the guidelines provided below in order to apply and submit their 2025 applications within the deadline.

UWC Admission Requirement 2025-2026
Minimum Requirements
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) Bachelors pass—an achievement rating of 4 (sufficient success 50–59 percent) or better in four courses chosen from the recognized 20 credit NSC subjects (known as the specified subject list)—is the minimum entry requirement.
System of UWC Points
- UWC uses a weighted approach to calculate points for admission to degree and diploma programs. A minimal number of points must be obtained in order for a candidate to be admitted to degree programs.
