The University of Venda Opens Application Portal for 2026 Intake! Apply Now!

Prospective students can begin applying for the University of Venda’s 2026 academic year online starting Tuesday, April 1, 2025, through the UNIVEN admission portal. The application deadline is Friday, September 27, 2025, with early submissions encouraged.

UNIVEN student registration – new applicants and returning students

New applicants and UNIVEN students pursuing new qualifications must wait for an official offer letter before registering. Upon receiving your personalized registration details, you can access the online portal during the designated registration window. For returning students, registration opens after receiving UNIVEN’s confirmation and follows the same timeline.

Downloadable Checklist: Documents Needed for UNIVEN Undergraduate Application

To apply for undergraduate studies at our institution, you’ll need to submit digital copies (PDF format) of the following documents:

Identification: Show yourself! Scan your ID card or passport.
Grade 11 Results: Ace those finals! Upload your stamped December results from Grade 11.
Current Students: Already studying elsewhere? We just need your academic record.
Tertiary History: If you’ve already dipped your toes in higher education, send your academic record and good conduct certificate (if applicable).
International Applicants: Welcome from abroad! Include copies of your study or residency permit, medical insurance, and SAQA Evaluation Certificate.
Application Fee: Don’t forget the entry ticket! Proof of payment for the R100 application fee is your key.

UNIVEN Application Fee Requirements

To submit your application, you’ll need to pay the R100 fee. The University of Venda (UNIVEN) accepts payments through ABSA Bank. Please use the following information:

Reference: Your ID number or student number

How to Apply Online to UNIVEN 2026 (First Timers)

Prospective applicants must apply online by following the procedures below:

STEP 1: Login Details

Go to the Univen application website: https://www.univen.ac.za
At the top menu of the page, click on “How to Apply.”

Step 2: Create a PIN

The applicant will be required to create a pin consisting of five digits. This pin will be used as a login pin on the student portal when admitted to study with the University

Step 3: Upload the Required Documents

Gather your documents or upload further or outstanding documents. These documents must be in the format required by the university. Scan and upload the following:
- copy of I.D. document or passport,
- Grade 11 report or
- statement of grade 12 results or copy of the matriculation certificate

STEP 4: Pay Your Application Fee

Pay the Non-Refundable application fee of R100
During the online application process, you may save and return at a later stage to resume the application process.

Step 5: Submit Your Completed Application

Submit your completed online application form and documents. Review to ensure the right thing is done before clicking on the ‘submit button after completing your online forms
You will then get a student number.
