University of Cape Town (UCT) Key Dates and Deadlines

Please refer to the information below regarding the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) intake or academic year 2025–2026 application period.

Undergraduate applications: open on April 1, 2024, and close on July 31, 2024. Don’t miss out!
Postgraduate applications: Faculty-specific deadlines vary, but most applications close between June and August 2024. Check your chosen program for specific dates.
Undergraduate portfolio submissions are due on August 31, 2024, for programs like fine art.

Every application requires payment of an application fee. Unless applying to a Graduate School of Business (GSB) programme, UCT students and graduates, as well as Semester Study Abroad (SSA) applicants, are exempt from the application cost.

How much must one pay at UCT as an application fee for 2025?

An applicant must pay an application fee depending on where and the category of qualification, as shown below:

Undergraduate and postgraduate applications from South Africa and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region
Undergraduate and postgraduate applications from outside the SADC region ________ R300
Graduate School of Business (GSB) applications from South Africa and African citizens/residents ______ R1 940
GSB applications from outside of Africa ________USD 300

How Do I Pay My Application for 2024? Cash, credit card, direct bank deposit, or electronic funds transfer are all acceptable methods of payment for the application fee for 2023.

While online application are strongly encouraged for efficiency and accuracy, UCT does offer limited hard copy application options for the 2025 academic year

Obtain the Application Form: Download it from the UCT website or request it from the Admissions Office.
Complete the Form Accurately: Fill out all sections legibly and provide complete information.

Submit the Application:

Mail it to: Admissions Office, University of Cape Town, Private Bag X3, Rondebosch 7701, South Africa.
Hand-deliver it to the Admissions Office on campus (check office hours).

Attach Required Documents:
