Wits Semester 2 Applications Now Open For 2024!

Wits Applications for Short Courses and Corporate Governance in 2024! The application window for short courses in Semester 2 and Corporate Governance courses in 2024 will open on April 1st, 2024. You can find detailed information about the application process for each category on the university website.

While the online application system is currently closed until March 1, applications for short courses and Corporate Governance can still be submitted via email. An application fee applies, and proof of payment is required with each submission. Once your application is approved, you will be notified of the registration date.

Applying to Wits University Semester 2: Important Information

Wits University only accepts applications for full-year undergraduate courses once a year, with the intake typically occurring in February. Applications for semester-based courses, short courses, and postgraduate programs may have different deadlines.

Applying for Multiple Programs

While you are welcome to apply for up to three programs at Wits University, you will need to submit a separate application form for each program you choose. The application form itself is generic and requires you to specify the program name you are applying for.

Wits University Application Fee

A non-refundable application fee of R250 applies per program you apply for. This fee is already included in the course fee and will be deducted from your final invoice.

Required Supporting Documents for Wits University Semester 2:

To ensure your application is complete, please include the following certified copies with your submission:

  • ID or Passport
  • Matric certificate/school leaving certificate
  • All post-school certificates, including full academic transcripts
  • Brief CV (maximum three pages)

Wits University Short Courses: Enhance Your Skills and Advance Your Career

Ideal for: working professionals seeking to upskill, advance their careers, or explore new paths.

Course Delivery: Part-time, with evening and/or Saturday classes offered once or twice a week.

Course Duration:

  • Most courses: 12 weeks (one two-hour lecture per week) with a revision session and final assessment.
  • Wits Plus also offers one-year full-time courses starting at the beginning of the year.
  • Important Note: Short courses are not accredited on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) but utilize Wits Course Level (WCL) descriptors.

Entrance Requirements:

  • Courses cater to individuals prepared for tertiary education.
  • Specific requirements vary but relevant work experience in the field is often advantageous.
  • Some courses may require prerequisites in English, math, economics, or computer literacy. Applicants are encouraged to verify specific requirements.
