University of Johannesburg 2025 Late Applications Now Open

Late 2025 applications are welcome from anyone who wishes to pursue an undergraduate degree at the University of Johannesburg but was unable to apply during the first admission window. Late admissions are open to both domestic and overseas students, as well as those who do not have a University of Johannesburg student number. Because not all courses are open, applicants should apply for qualifications that are open for late applications by visiting the official website

The University of Johannesburg’s early online application started on April 1, 2024, with closing dates for undergraduate applicants on September 30, 2024, at noon, and for postgraduate applicants on October 31, 2024, at noon.

According to the admission office of the University of Johannesburg (UJ), late applications will formally be open to the general public from 16 January to 21 January 2025 at 2 p.m. If you missed the September deadline, then the January 2025 late application is here for you.

Is Application Free at the University of Johannesburg?

University of Johannesburg online applications for 2025 remain free regardless of the time of submission. When students submit a paper copy of the application form (manual applications), they must pay an application fee of R200.

UJ will be conducting a final selection process after the release of the grade 12 results and inform applicants within 5 working days, officially via e-mail and unofficially via SMS, on the outcome of their application status.

Applicants are not required to visit any campus to confirm their final application status. If you have not received a SMS or email within 5 working days from the release of the final grade 12 results from UJ, then please click here to verify your application status or call the UJ Call Centre (011 559 4555) for more information.

UJ Application Form (Manual Application)

These processes are for those who prefer the manual application other than the online application.

Step 1: Choose the Course

Choose between options 1 and 2 for your qualification study. (Please make sure you meet the entrance standards outlined in this prospectus.)

Step 2: Payment of Application FEE

If you don’t already have a UJ student number, pay the R200 application fee and fill out the UJ academic application form.

Step 3: Submit the fully completed application form

Submit your application to one of the University of Jacksonville’s four campuses. Please wait three weeks before contacting us to inquire about the status of your application. If your application satisfies the minimum standards and space is available in your desired program, you will be notified if your application was successful or not.

UJ Online Application Steps

Prospective Applicants must follow these procedures to apply online at the University of Johannesburg for 2025 admissions.

STEP 1: Login Information

Access internet access.
Enter “www.uj.ac.za/Apply” in the search box.
Select “New Applicant” from the drop-down menu.
To indicate your student number, select Yes/No from the drop box.
To indicate if you’re returning to finish an unfinished application, select Yes/No from the drop-down menu.

STEP 2: Courses Selection

Choose your Course after examining the specific course requirements. This stage is very key to gaining admission into this University. Consult people if you don’t know what to choose.
If applicable, enter a qualification token.

Step 3 Agree with the University Terns

Read the clause that appears.
Select “I Accept” from the drop-down menu.
To continue, select the “Next” option.

STEP 4: Applicant’s Information

Fill in your passport or ID number.

Step 5: Upload the Required Documents and Submit a fully completed form

UJ application Supporting Documents Required from Applicants

UJ applications require the supporting documents below from applicants.

South African Citizens

Copies of your identification documents that have been certified (ID)
A certified copy of your Grade 12 examination results
Certified copy of your Grade 11 (if you’re in Grade 12 right now)
An email address is required.

International Students

A certified copy of your native country’s identification document
A certified copy of your passport number from your home country
Study Visa in South Africa
Medical Report
English Proficiency For Undergraduate programs, proof of IELTS with an overall score of 6 and TOEFL with an average score of 80–104 is required.
You can take the English Language Programme Test at the University of Johannesburg (UJELP).
