University of Cape Town Opens Online Applications For 2026

Prospective students can now apply online for undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs at the University of Cape Town, for the 2026 academic year. Applications for studies at UCT in 2026 are now available online. Between April 1, 2025, and midnight on August 31, 2025, complete your 2026 application.

All prospective students may now officially access the University of Cape Town’s online application form and portal by visiting the official website at www.uct.ac.za.

Applying to the University of Cape Town For 2026 Admissions

Provide an active email address that can be reached in the coming weeks.

Domestic students:

Must have a government-issued ID card.
If under the age of 18, a birth certificate is required.

Foreign Applicants:

Must have a valid passport from their home country.

Make sure that all supporting documents are scanned and certified before submitting your UCT application. The certification can be obtained at your local police station, and they must be no more than 90 days old when applying. Academic transcripts, the highest academic qualification certificate, academic results, and receipt of the application fee are all required when applying to study at the University of Cape Town. Please keep in mind that on July 31, 2025, all undergraduate APPLICATIONS will be closed.

Pay the non-refundable application fee.
Upload all supporting documents including proof of payment

How to Check the Status of Your UCT Application for 2025

You can check your application status after the closing date after the closing date

To check the status of your application, return to the application page, which is the same page where you submitted your online application form to UCT.
Enter your login information. This includes your student ID and the 5-digit PIN you received when you first submitted the application form.
You will be taken to the student center’s home page.
Choose and click the ADMISSIONS tab.
Choose and press the OVERALL APPLICATION STATUS button.
You will be able to view the current status of your academic applications, including funding and housing, if you applied for them.
