UKZN Online Application 2025-2026 Undergraduate

The University of Kwazulu-Natal is now accepting applications for undergraduate programs in the 2025–2026 academic year. The application window is open and accessible on Monday, April 1, 2024, so interested students are encouraged to apply now. You can apply online or manually.

Key Dates for Applying to the University of Kwazulu-Natal in 2025–2026

Undergraduate applications for the University of Kwazulu-Natal’s 2025-2026 academic year are officially open! However, to be considered for admission, you must submit your application by the following deadlines:

Medicine Program: June 30, 2024 (strict deadline; no late applications accepted)
All Other Programs (Undergraduate and Postgraduate): September 30, 2024

Make sure all required documents reach the university by these deadlines.

Who is Eligible to Apply for UKZN Admission in 2025-2026

A qualified candidate is someone who meets the following criteria:

Meets the admission requirements of the University of Kwazulu-Natal, i.e. General and specific faculty requirements
Applies and submits the fully Completed application form (Online)
Uploads the required documents in their right format during the online application
Pays the online application and uploads the proof of payment during the online application
Provides active contact information where all communications will take place.

UKZN Application Fee for 2025 Admission

Applicants interested in applying for admission to the University of Kwazulu-Natal should prepare the following non-refundable fee and upload the proof of payment online during the application.

Where applicable, R210 on-time applications and R420 late applications are permitted.
You will not need to pay an application fee if you are a current student who was enrolled in the previous academic year.

How to Apply at the University of Kwazulu-Natal for 2025

Undergraduate Application Procedures for First-Time South African Applicants

Current Applicants:

Are you a South African citizen and currently in Grade 12 or have you completed it? your National Senior Certificate or Senior Certificate and have never studied at UKZN before OR

Transfer Applicants:

Currently registered (or have been registered) at another institution for undergraduate studies and wish to apply for a transfer to UKZN. Then Note Below how to apply:
- - You (2 categories aforementioned) have to make an application to UKZN by completing a Central Application Office (CAO) application form. Follow the steps below to apply via CAO

CAO Application Procedures are Explained below

Step 1: Contact CAO Office

Contact the CAO by telephone, email or letter and have your details captured.

Step 2: Receive the Package from CAO Office

Once your details have been recorded, the CAO will send you a package containing the CAO handbook and application forms.

Step 3: Registration Details

The Admissions Office will also receive your details via the CAO informing them of registration dates and venues and will post specific career leaflets for your choice of study.

STEP 4: Complete the Application Form and Payment

Fill out the application form, pay the CAO application fee, and deliver it to the CAO according to the instructions in your CAO manual.
Where applicable, R210 on-time applications and R420 late applications are permitted.

Step 5: Track Your Application Status

Your information will now be available on the CAO and affiliated institutions if you have also chosen another institution.
The selection process now begins and the DUT Student Admissions Office will keep you updated on the status.

UKZN 2025 Application Required Documents

Current Applicants: Prospective applicants must have the following:

Certified copies of their Grade 11 results (plus any available Grade 12 results)
ID documents with the applications.

Transfer Applicants: Transfer Applicants wishing to transfer from other Universities must submit

Certified copies of their National Senior Certificates/Senior certificates
Complete academic transcripts from their previous/current Universities with their applications.

Is Manual Application Accepted in UKZN

Applicants should be aware that all UKZN applications are now completed ONLINE.

N.B. Manual applications (Hard Copy) will not be accepted and they will not be processed with an EXCEPTION for the following:

NDP Programmes
Change of campuses
2024 second semester applications that close on the 30th of June 2024

UKZN Admission Requirements for 2025-2026

Undergraduate applicants for any of the degree or certificate courses or programs must meet at least one of the following requirements:

Degree:

Applicants to undergraduate degree programmes must be in possession of a National Senior Certificate for Degree Studies (NSC-Deg) or a Senior Certificate with endorsement.

Diploma

Applicants to undergraduate diploma programmes must be in possession of a National Senior Certificate for Diploma studies (NSC-Dip) or Senior Certificate.
