UCT Readmission Online Application For 2025-2026

The University of Cape Town is currently accepting applications from those who have previously been rejected and would like to reapply or readmit. The University of Cape Town’s readmission form and online application portal are currently available and will be open for use on April 1, 2024. All undergraduate candidates can now complete the online application form on the official website for readmission to the University of Cape Town (UCT). Before applying, review the requirements for the course one more time.

When to Re-apply to the University of Cape Town for the 2025-2026 Intake

On Monday, April 1, 2024, the University of Cape Town will start accepting online applications for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees from all prospective candidates. Applicants seeking readmission are still eligible to apply. Within the allotted time, the University of Cape Town will process all application forms—including reapplications from students—received for the 2025–2026 intake via the application login.

The University of Cape Town’s readmission application window opens on April 1, 2024, and closes at 12:00 on January 4, 2025.

Application Tips for Applicants re-applying for 2025-2026

Please download the current prospectus and study the requirements of your preferred course to ensure you meet both the faculty and the minimum entry requirements of that course before reapplying to the University of Cape Town.

When completing the appeal form, please use Adobe 10 or a later version. MAC users: If you are using an Apple MAC, make sure you use Adobe Reader to fill out and save your form. Please keep in mind that using Apple Preview may result in a blank form. If you are unable to use Adobe Reader for Mac, please print and scan your completed Adobe Form. Blank forms cannot be processed, which may cause your appeal to be delayed.

The minimum average point (APS) to study at UCT is 27. Some programmes need more than the minimum. Between 24 and 26 you may be eligible for the selection test but if the programme is full of applicants who meet the minimum and above, you are not going to be given the opportunity. Try to have more than the minimum. It should not be your target number.

Documents Needed for UCT Re-application For 2025-2026

Re-upload the following documents during the online process:

Have you completed your appeal form?
(Undergraduate only) If you are applying to another faculty, did you obtain and attach written confirmation from the programme convener or faculty manager that you meet the transfer criteria?
If you marked that you are appealing to another faculty, have you contacted the faculty office concerned? Has supporting documentation (if relevant and/or including motivation) been attached?
If you are appealing to transfer to another qualification, have you checked that you would meet the current entrance requirements of that qualification? If not, the RAC cannot make an admissions decision.
Is your appeal clearly written and does it include all relevant evidence to support the reason(s) for your poor performance? Remember that all information submitted to the RAC remains confidential and withholding vital information will jeopardize your appeal.
(Undergraduate only) If you are appealing/applying to the Humanities and/or Commerce Faculties, have you included a completed curriculum plan?
Have you combined your appeal form and supporting documents into a SINGLE PDF file and submitted your appeal on PeopleSoft?

How to Re-apply at UCT for 2025-2026 online

To reapply for readmission to the University of Cape Town (UCT), you must have a smart device that is connected to the internet and an email address. Then, go to www.uct.ac.za and follow the steps below.

Read the information sheet carefully.
Complete the correct appeal form (make sure that you have completed the checklist at the end of the information sheet). Please note that undergraduate and postgraduate students have separate forms. Do not use old forms – old forms will not be accepted.
Upload your appeal on PeopleSoft Self Service using the RAC Service Request by the deadline date and time of 3 January 2024 by 12h00
The Student Records Office will send your appeal to the Faculty RAC you have appealed to.
Please do not include your UCT and matric results in your application.
RAC will consider your appeal.
The RAC will write to you to inform you of their decision
We strongly urge you to start making plans for what you will do in 2024 if your appeal fails and you are denied readmission to UCT.
