The University of Cape Town will open and close the 2025-2026 application window by the following dates

Application Opening: 1 April 2024
Application Closing: 31 August 2024
Supporting Document Deadline: 30 September 2024

UCT Application Fee Requirements For 2025-2026:

Pay the application fee online through the UCT portal.

South African nationals and residents of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of R100 for both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Applications for undergraduate and graduate programs from outside the SADC region are subject to an application handling fee of R300. Applications to the Graduate School of Business (GSB) from both domestic and foreign students must include a processing fee of R1940 and USD 300, respectively.

To apply to the University of Cape Town online for the class of 2025, follow the steps below:

STEP 1: Login Details

Go to the UCT application website: http://www.students.uct.ac.za/
Click on the Apply online to UCT Button to commence your online application

STEP 2: Choose your Course/ Programme

Select a qualification and any additional criteria.
Choose your Course after examining the specific course requirements. This stage is very key to gaining admission into this University

STEP 3: Complete Online Application Forms

Gather your paperwork or upload any missing or incomplete documents.
Download an application form (manual applications only)
Fill out your application completely (manual and online)

STEP 4: Pay Application Fees

Step 5: Submit the Completed Application Form

How to Get the 2025 UCT Application Form (Hard Copy)

If you are unable to apply online, you may do so on paper. Submit completed undergraduate application forms with the subject line “2025 UCT Application Form” to admissions-ug@uct.ac.za before the deadline of August 31, 2024. If you are unable to email your application, please mail it to the Admissions Office before the deadline.

Admission Requirements Minimum

Before being considered for admission, a candidate must first be eligible to be considered for admission to a program. As an undergraduate applicant to UCT, you must be aware of the following and meet the criteria that apply to you:.

National Senior Certificate (NSC) applicants must, for admission to the higher certificate, diploma or degree programmes have met the NSC requirements for such endorsement.
If you do not meet the minimum requirements for UCT admission but you are 23 years or older and have a Grade 12 (school-leaving) certificate, you may qualify for a mature age exemption. Applicants with mature age exemptions are not considered for programmes offered in the Faculties of Health Sciences or Law.
