The official date of the 2025–2026 UCT online application window is April 1, 2024. You can anticipate that undergraduate applications will open on April 1 and close by July 31, 2024, based on timelines from prior years. Save it for the last minute! When Can I Apply for 2025 Admission at UCT?

Applications for the 2025–2026 academic year will be officially accepted at the University of Cape Town from April 1 through July 31, 2024. In other words, you can begin applying on April 1, 2024. All UCT applications will formally close on July 31, 2024, except postgraduate applications, which are scheduled to close on August 31, 2024. At UCT, late applications are not accepted.

What are the Application Dates for UCT 2024?

UCT Application Documents Required For 2025

Current learners at school must make sure that all examination results from Grade 11 until September of grade 12 are submitted. Failure to submit these results may result in delays.
Transferring students should submit all transcripts and academic records as early as possible.
Documents must be submitted as certified electronic copies to admissions-ug@uct.ac.za (undergraduate applicants).

UCT Application Processes: How to Apply

The University of Cape Town has two forms of application. An applicant chooses which of those two is suitable for him or her. An applicant can apply electronically or manually for the 2025 academic year. Any of these methods are sanctioned by the management of the university

Online Application: This is where an applicant applies via the admission portal set up by the university by following the steps outlined in this article. This is the fastest approach to applying for admission. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Manual Application: This process or method involves an applicant downloading the application form, filling it out with ink, and submitting it either by email or hand delivery to the admission office. This approach is usually slow in reaching management for review.

STEP 1: Login Details

Click on the Apply online to UCT Button to commence your online application

STEP 2: Choose your Course Programme

Select a qualification and any additional criteria.
Choose your course after examining the specific course requirements. This stage is very key to gaining admission into this University

STEP 3: Complete Online Application Forms

Gather your paperwork or upload any missing or incomplete documents.
Download an application form (manual applications only)
Fill out your application completely (manual and online)

STEP 4: Pay Application Fees

The application cost must be paid (where applicable). See above for how to pay the UCT application fee.

Step 5: Submit the Completed Application Form

Submit your completed form as well as any supporting papers (manuals and online applications). Review to ensure the right thing is done before clicking on the Button or sending the hardcopy either by mail or hand delivery
