The University of Cape Town’s Management would like to notify all interested and eligible candidates that they may submit an application for admission to the university for the academic year 2025–2026. The period for applications is April 1, 2024–July 31, 2024. To avoid disappointment, applicants are urged to apply as soon as possible.

For those who wish to manually apply for admission to the 2024–2025 academic year, UCT will formally open the application form on April 1st of this year. Apply as soon as you can, because late applications won’t be accepted.

Eligibility Requirements:

Meet the minimum entry requirements for your chosen degree program. These can be found on the UCT website.
Have a valid international passport if you are an international applicant.
Demonstrate English language proficiency through recognized tests like IELTS or TOEFL.

The University of Cape Town has two forms of application. An applicant chooses which of those two is suitable for him or her. An applicant can apply electronically or manually for the 2024 academic year. Any of these methods are sanctioned by the management of the university

UCT Online Application Procedure For 2025-2026

The University of Cape Town’s step-by-step application process for the 2025–2026 academic year is provided below.

Go to the UCT application website: http://www.students.uct.ac.za/
Click on the Apply Online to UCT Button to commence your online application
Read the POCI act and accept.
Register a new account or log in if you already have one.
Enter your ID number
Complete the required personal information.
Gather necessary documents (academic transcripts, identification, etc.).
Fill out the online application form with accurate details.
Pay the application fee
Submit the completed application form.
Receive confirmation or reference numbers.
Track the application status through the online portal.

For individuals who would rather take a more conventional approach or are unable to apply online, the hard copy application form for the academic year 2025–2026 can be downloaded in PDF format. You can download it and manually fill it out for submission. Before August 31, 2024, a completed undergraduate application form must be sent to admissions-ug@uct.ac.za with the subject line “2025 UCT Application Form.”

UCT Application Supporting Documents Required For 2025

All prospective applicants are to provide the following documents during the application process for the 2025–2026 academic year:

Current learners at school must make sure that all examination results from Grade 11 until September of Grade 12 are submitted. Failure to submit these results may result in delays.
Transferring students should submit all transcripts and academic records as early as possible.
Documents must be submitted as certified electronic copies to admissions-ug@uct.ac.za (undergraduate applicants).

Tracking Your Application:

After submission, keep a record of any confirmation or reference numbers provided by the university. UCT may offer an online tracking system that allows you to monitor the status of your hard copy application. Regularly check your email for updates from the admissions office.
