The application period for Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in 2025 is now officially open to all prospective students desiring to enrol in undergraduate or postgraduate programs. The application period is open from March 1, 2024, until September 30, 2024, for the January 2025–2026 intake. Visit the application portal of TUT at www.tut.ac.za to apply as soon as possible if you meet the entry requirements of your desired course. Applications are welcome from all applicants all over the world!

Who Qualifies to Apply for Admission at TUT?

TUT accepts applications from applicants who meet the entry requirements of their chosen course. An applicant may be a South African citizen or a foreign national. To be considered for TUT admission, an applicant must meet both the general admission requirements and the requirements specific to their faculty.

When Is the Best Time to Apply for Admission to TUT in 2025–2026?

Officially, applications to study at TUT will be accepted from March 1, 2024, through September 30, 2024. The ideal time to apply for the upcoming 2025–2026 academic year is between March 1 and September 30.  Late applications are not assured, as they are only considered when there are spaces available after September 30, 2024.

Which documents are required by TUT when applying for the 2025 intake?

The following documentation must be submitted by the applicant in order to be considered for admission to the 2025 academic year:

  • A completely filled-out application form
  • Recently certified (certification may not be not older than one year)
  • Copies of your original ID, National Senior Certificate, and/or highest academic results
  • Proof of Administration fee payment

How to Apply to TUT for Admissions For 2025-2026

Prospective students may apply Onl​i​​ne​​​  by following the steps below:

  • Go to the TUT Online Application website: https://www.tut.ac.za/
  • Click on “Study@TUT” in the top right corner.
  • Select and click on “Apply Now.”
  • Choose whether you have a student number (if you’re a returning student) or not.
  • Select if you’re completing an existing application or not.
  • Accept the consent form.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the application form.
  • Provide accurate and complete personal information.
  • Choose your desired program(s) of study.
  • Upload all required documents in the specified format.
  • Review your application carefully before submitting it.
  • Once you’re satisfied with your application, click submit.
  • Pay the application fee online using a credit card or debit card.
  • You’ll receive a confirmation email with your application reference number.
  • You can track your application status online using the TUT online application portal.
  • You’ll be notified via email when a decision has been made on your application.

For 2025, what is the TUT Application Fee?

An application fee of R240 must be sent with your application form. This payment is non-refundable if your application is denied and goes toward covering the administrative expenses of processing application forms. The application fee can be paid by postal order, electronic/internet transfer, or direct bank deposit.

What TUT’s admissions requirements are for 2025?

Before an applicant is considered for admission, they need to satisfy these requirements.

  • Each course has its own specific admission requirements.
  • A pass mark in English is required at the Senior Certificate level (minimum additional language; certain programmes may require first or home language status)
  • Prospective students should note that the admission requirements of individual programmes could change from year to year.
  • For some programmes, students will be required to write an admission test, which will determine whether they will be admitted to the programme, or whether it will be recommended to them that they enrol in a relevant foundation course.
