How To Reapply At University of Johannesburg For 2026

The re-application cycle at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) is now open for anyone who wants to reapply or seek readmission in 2026. You will need to submit a new application for the 2026 intake if you were not accepted in the previous year. The UJ online readmission application is now available to all undergraduate applicants who wish to return to UJ. Before submitting your application, ensure that you meet the course prerequisites.

UJ Requirements For Re-applications

Reapplicants, transfer students, and returning students can apply either online (at no cost) or by submitting a hardcopy application (R200.00 fee).

Key Dates for UJ 2026 Reapplications:

All undergraduate, graduate, and international students, including those pursuing readmission, may now apply during the general application period, which runs from April 1, 2025, to October 31, 2025. Prepare your academic credentials, go to the official website, and promptly fill out the reapplication form.

When to Reapply for the 2026 Intake:

Since the application form is open from April 1 to October 31, it is ideal to apply within this period. UJ will not consider any application after the closing date. Ensure all your application documents reach UJ before the deadline

Reapplication Tips for 2026:

Before reapplying to UJ, ensure you meet both the faculty and course-specific entry requirements. Download the most recent prospectus to familiarize yourself with the requirements for your chosen program.

UJ requires a minimum Average Point Score (APS) of 27 for most undergraduate programs, though some programs may have higher requirements. If your APS is between 24 and 26, you may be eligible for a selection test, but competition for spots can be high, so it’s best to aim for an APS higher than the minimum.

Domestic Applicants:

  • Certified copy of your identification document (ID)
  • Certified copy of your Grade 12 exam results (if completed)
  • Certified copy of your Grade 11 results (if currently in Grade 12)

Do you intend to enroll at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) for the 2026 academic year? Here’s all you need to know about the application process, prerequisites, and deadlines, whether you are applying for postgraduate studies, transferring, or enrolling as a first-year student.

Before You Apply To UJ, Consider The Following Questions:

Do not apply to the University of Johannesburg (UJ) just because some of your colleagues are. You must be certain that you will be admitted to the course of your choice. You must be completely convinced that you will be admitted to your desired program at the University of Johannesburg, UJ. Ensure that you have answered these questions.

  • Decide what course (qualification) you want to study
  • What is required to be able to study that course (admission requirements)?
  • Where will you stay during your studies (accommodation)?
  • How do you intend to finance your education during your studies?
  • How do you apply to the University of Johannesburg, UJ?
  • What are the requirements during the application process?

When Does UJ Open For 2026 Applications?

The University of Johannesburg is currently accepting applications for the 2026 school year. Applying as soon as possible is essential if you wish to attend UJ in 2026. The deadline for applying to the 2026 intake is October 31, 2025, with applications starting on April 1, 2025.

Late applications will not be considered, so please send yours on time. To ensure your academic study visa, you (foreign applicants) should consider applying as soon as feasible.

Key Dates for the 2026 Intake at UJ

  • Application Opens: April 1, 2025
  • Application Deadline: October 31, 2025
  • Late Applications: Not accepted after October 31st, 2025

Decide what course (qualification) you want to study at the University of Johannesburg, UJ

When it comes to university education, the course of study is fundamental. This is heavily influenced by our dreams and the direction we want to take in our careers. Before you choose, make sure that your preferred course is available at the University of Johannesburg, UJ. Get the brochure and learn about the courses that are available.

What is required to be able to study that course (admission requirements)?

Every applicant’s primary and ultimate goal should be to meet the entry requirements of the University of Johannesburg, UJ. You should be aware that there are courses with less competition, and getting such a course is much more likely than getting a competitive course. Make sure that you meet both the course’s minimum and faculty requirements. Download the prospectus of the University of Johannesburg, UJ, to learn about all of the requirements.

Where will you stay during your studies (accommodation)?

Accommodation is one of the challenges that university administrators face, and the University of Johannesburg UJ is no exception. Because of the large student population, it is nearly impossible to provide facilities for every student on campus. If you are unable to obtain on-campus housing, you must prepare a backup plan. Before applying for a study course at the University of Johannesburg UJ in 2026, click here to get more information on accommodation for 2026.

How do you intend to finance your studies?

Applications for NSFAS financial aid for the 2026 academic year are open to eligible South African students enrolled in or about to enroll in NSFAS-approved courses. International students and UJ students ineligible for NSFAS should seek alternative funding sources.
