UNISA Online Registration Now Open For 2026

With campuses in Johannesburg and Pretoria, the University of South Africa (UNISA) officially opened the admissions process for the 2026 academic year on January 13, 2025. By filling out the appropriate forms on the UNISA website (www.unisa.ac.za), both domestic and foreign students can now apply for undergraduate or graduate programs.

The University of South Africa’s 2026 application window is now available to the public. You are encouraged to apply for admission as soon as possible. Qualifications will be removed from the application list after all available spots for the 2026 academic year have been filled

How to Apply Online at University of South Africa

To apply online, go to the University of South Africa website and click “Apply Now.

• Apply on the Unisa website using your valid email address and phone number.
• Start the online application by logging onto the Unisa online study website.
• Choose the study option you want to apply for and your preferred qualification.
• Please provide your personal information and documents as needed.
• Select your chosen study mode.
• Make sure to include all essential documents, such as
• A copy of South African ID (Locals) and Passport Number (International Applicants)
• Documents that were not originally in English must have a sworn translation.
• A copy of School qualifications, i.e. Senior Certificate and National Senior Certificates
• If Married, Provide the Marriage certificate or state divorce if applicable
• Official academic records of the tertiary attended.
• Once UNISA receives all of your information, it will assess your application and update your status

UNISA Walk-in Applications 2026

All applications must be submitted online. Regretfully, no manual or walk-in applications will be processed, including those submitted via post or over the counter.

Required Documents for UNISA’s 2026 Online Application

To complete your online application at the University of South Africa, you must upload the following documents:

South African applicants:

• South African Identify number,
• Cell phone number,
• Active Email address,
• National Senior Certificate (NSC) or your Grade 11 results if still in school.
• Academic records if transferring from another institution.
• Proof of payment

International Applicants:

All applicants must present certified and clear copies of the following documents during the application process; incomplete submissions will not be considered.

• Passport
• National Senior Certificate or equivalent
• USAF accreditation (if applicable)

Make sure your documents are clear and submitted in the required format, as incomplete applications will not be considered.

University of South Africa Application Fees For 2026

The UNISA application fee for the 2026 academic year is a non-refundable R135.00, required only from first-time applicants.
