Apply for NSFAS Funding 2026 Without a Cell Phone

It may seem surprising, but not every student has access to a smart device. Despite living in a technological age, some students, even at the tertiary level, do not own cell phones. Unfortunately, students without a cell phone or smart device cannot apply for NSFAS online. However, the good news is that there are alternative options available for those who do not own a smart device.

Applying for NSFAS Without a Smart Device

Although there are hard copy application options, the rest of the NSFAS application process is conducted online, making it highly recommended to have a smart device with internet access. Without internet access, you won’t be able to create an account.

If you cannot afford a smartphone, consider visiting an internet café to use their laptops or desktop computers. Alternatively, you can use your parent’s smart device to create and manage your myNSFAS account. The only requirement is a cell phone number, which can be from any phone, as it is needed to receive an OTP for verification.
