CUT Online Application Forms 2026- SA Applications

Central University of Technology (CUT) is accepting online applications for undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the 2026 academic year. The application period runs from May 13, 2025, to September 30, 2025. Interested candidates should visit www.cut.ac.za to complete the online application form before the deadline. CUT is recognised as one of Africa’s top universities and receives many applications each year. The university has campuses located in Bloemfontein and Welkom.

The Central University of Technology (CUT) is accepting online applications for both new and returning students seeking undergraduate or postgraduate degrees, including international students. All application forms and required documents must be submitted by the deadline for the 2026 academic year.

How to Get the CUT application form

The form is also available at the:

• Bloemfontein campus: Lapeng Student Center, Ground floor (Administration Office)
• Welkom campus: Administration Block

Any student applying for admission to the CUT must request an application form from the Assistant Registrar. Academic Structure and Student Enrollment Services

• For international student assistance, contact the International Office.
• N qualification (TVET students)

• Students who are continuing with their studies without a gap year will be auto-promoted with no need to reapply.
• Students who took a gap year and would like to continue with their studies must complete a continuation form.

CUT Online Application Process

To apply to the CUT online application form for 2026, follow the steps below:

• visit www.cut.ac.za, click on Study at CUT, then click Apply Online
• Click on New Applications
• Keep following the blue steps.
• New applicants, read carefully. *Compulsory fields. Must complete proceeding.
• You can download the document containing the POPI ACT.
• Read it and accept it to proceed.
• Enter the data exactly as it is in your SA ID or passport—no exceptions.
• Enter your contact details
• Complete the information on the screen and click next.
• If you have completed Grade 12, your results are uploaded from the Dept. of Basic Education when you arrive at the screen.
• Otherwise, you are required to manually enter your results. Grade 12, Final Grade 11 or June Grade 11. Your most recent result.
• To manually add, click Add Subject and continue to add each subject.
• Tell CUT where you attended school or if you have studied at another institution.
• If your school/institution is not listed, type in Other.
• Do you have a qualification(s)? Tell CUT about it. Where, when, and what subjects have you completed?
• Add your first-choice programme.
• Add your second choice programme, should the first option not be possible.
• Review the information carefully. Go back and correct any errors. It is important to do this now.
• Next, you will upload documents. Click Continue
• Documents must be uploaded for your application to proceed. Without documents, your application is incomplete.
• Read which document is required, then click Load/View Document.
• Click Upload Document.
• Click Browse and select the document from your device.
• Click Save once you have browsed the document.
• Review the upload.
• Yes indicates that you have uploaded successfully.
• You will need it to log in and follow up on the application.

CUT Required Documents 

Upload one certified copy of the following documents:

South African Applicant

• Current Matriculants: upload Final Grade 11 results or Grade 12 June results.
• Already Matriculated applicants: you will have to upload your certified ID and Senior Certificate.
• Higher Qualifications than Matric: You will have to upload your certified ID, senior certificate, your qualification(s), and study record.
• Postgraduate Applicants: Visit the Head of the Department/Assistant Deans, Research Innovation and Engagement, to discuss a research project for a Masters or Doctorate study before applying online. For more information, see Postgraduate Studies.

International Applicant

• Certified copy of your SAQA/HESA evaluation certificate;
• Certified copies of your foreign school leaving/college/university qualifications;
• Certified copy of your passport
• South African-based medical aid
• A valid  study visa

CUT Entry Requirements 

Before reapplying to the Central University of Technology (CUT), it is essential to download the current prospectus and review the entry requirements for your chosen course to ensure you meet both the faculty-specific and minimum entry standards. The minimum Admission Point Score (APS) for CUT is 27, but some programs require higher scores. If your APS is between 24 and 26, you may qualify for a selection test; however, if the program is filled with applicants meeting or exceeding the minimum APS, you may not be considered. It is advisable to aim for an APS higher than the minimum, as this will improve your chances of acceptance.

Enrollment is currently available to interested students who want to further their education. Central University of Technology Online Application Dates For 2024-2025

Admission to the Central University of Technology begins on June 1, 2023, and ends on September 30, 2023. Because there will be no second application window, apply as soon as possible. From June 1, 2023, to September 30, 2023, you can access the central university of Technology’s online application form. We urge all applicants for the 2024 intake to apply by the application deadline or risk disappointment because applications received after the deadline will be rejected

Before enrolling in a course, make sure you meet the prerequisites, as admission is based on an applicant’s academic performance. When choosing a course to study, especially for an undergraduate degree, be flexible. Keep your options open and select from less restrictive faculties to improve your chances of admission in 2024.

How the Central University online application is done electronically and procedurally 

To apply to CUT, use a smart device and a strong internet connection and follow the steps below.

Step 1: Login details

Log onto the official website @www.cut.ac.za

• On the menu bar, click on the student tab and select Prospective student
• Click on the application process after scrolling down the page
• On the left side of the page select the new application tab
• Click on New Applications

Step 2: Read and Accept

• New applicants, read carefully. Compulsory fields must be completed to proceed.
• There is a document on this page, read it and Accept it to proceed.

Step 3: Biographical data Capturing

• Biographical data is all about you. Enter the data exactly as it is in your SA ID or Passport – no exceptions.
• Make sure the university has the correct information.
• Continue with the application process. Complete the information on the screen and click next.

Step 4: Upload your Certificates

• You can upload your certificate manually or could be automatically uploaded if you have completed your Grade 12. To manually add, click Add Subject and continue to add each subject.
• Provide your educational information at this stage
• Indicate your Qualification: Where, when, and what subjects have you completed

Step 5: Select your field of study

• Choose your desired course at this point after assessing the requirements (2 options, First and second choice)

Step 6: Review and upload the required documents

• Review the information carefully. Go back and correct any errors. It is important to do this now.
• Upload the required documents after this step. Without documents, your application is incomplete.
• Review the upload. Yes indicates that you have uploaded successfully.

Step 7: Log in with your student number to complete the process

• A student number is generated. Keep your student number safe.
• You will need it to log in and follow up on the application.

Step 8: Verify and submit your application

• Click Submit Application. Enter the programme you are applying to study and click Search
• Click on the programme code (in blue) to add the programme to your profile.
• Click View Completed Application(s) and verify the programme is indeed added.
• A notification will be emailed that your application profile has been updated.

Please remember to include a certified copy of the following documents with your application before submitting it. Any application form that does not include any of these documents will be rejected for the January 2024 deadline.
