Online Application: This is where an applicant applies via the admission portal set up by the university by following the steps outlined in this article. This is the fastest approach to applying for admission. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

SPU Online Application Process:

Follow these steps to Apply Online: Sol Plaatje University Online Application 2025/2026

Step 1: Login Information

• You’ll need a computer or laptop to apply online. (THIS IS NOT A CELLPHONE.)
• To view the official website, go to www.spu.ac.za.

Step 2: Fill out the Application Form

• and submit an online application
• After you’ve submitted your biographical information, your student number will show on the screen.
• Apply, register, change personal information, and obtain academic and other data.

Step 3; Create a Pin and Accept the Rules

• As a new potential student, create a pin.
• To continue with your application, log in, read, and accept the application guidelines.
• Then, under Application, select View Application Rules. Accept the rules and continue your application

Step 4: Educational Background

• Enter Your details (School Attended, School Leaving Subjects, Certificates)
• Enter Previous Qualification

Step 5: Submit the Fully Completed application form

• Any Disabilities
• Update Personal Information (e.g. If you require residence accommodation, etc.)
• Submit Application and View Completed Applications

Sol Plaatje University’s Manual Application:

This process or method involves an applicant downloading the application form, filling it out with ink, and submitting it either by email or hand delivery to the admission office. This approach is usually slow in reaching management for review.

SPU Application Form 2025 (Hard Copy)

Admission forms can be obtained at the registrar’s office when you visit the campus. The university does not accept manual applications; thus, all applications must be completed online.

What are the Required Documents for 2025

Prospective applicants who wish to study with the university must upload the following documents during the online application process:

• South African ID
• Affidavit
• Matric Certificates
• Academic Transcripts,
• Qualification(s) obtained at another University

NB: Make sure you have electronic copies of your documents to upload before you begin. Acceptable document types and formats are: pdf, doc, docx, tiff, PNG, jpg, and jpeg.

Admission Criteria for 2025 Applicants

Prospective applicants must meet the following admission requirements together with the specific faculty requirements for 2025 admissions:

• The minimum requirements are based on candidates’ results in the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations in South Africa.
• Applicants with certificates from a different examination system will be evaluated on an individual basis.
• English is the language of instruction and learning at SPU. Students must have completed English HL: NSC Level 4 or English 1st extra language: NSC Level 5 to be eligible for any of our academic programs. It’s worth noting that the extra points can be applied to any of the official languages used as the HL for computing the APS.
