Anyone interested in studying at North-West University can apply online for the academic year 2025-2026, beginning on Monday, April 1, 2024. North-West University NWU online application form is an online portal that applicants are expected to visit to complete the online application form for admission.

Prospective undergraduate students may apply to up to two programs. We encourage you to make two choices because it increases your chances of admission to NWU. These options can come from the same or different faculties.

To access the North-West University NWU online application portal, you will need a mobile form or any device that can connect to the internet. To apply to North-West University (NWU), an email address and a contact number will be required. Applications will be accepted beginning April 1, 2024.

Only after all required fields have been completed can an application for admission be submitted online. However, most applicants must submit additional information after submitting an initial application.

So because the university only accepts online applications, applicants cannot obtain a paper copy of the NWU application form and fill it out with a pen.

When to apply to North-West University NWU is a critical and relevant question if you want to study at NWU. North-West University (NWU) is still open and accepting applications from all prospective applicants and students for the 2025–2026 academic year.

You are eligible to apply for an undergraduate or postgraduate course for the 2025 intake if you have a good grade and meet the admission requirements of your desired course. The deadline for the online application to North-West University (NWU) is August 31, 2024, but undergraduate courses will close as early as June 30, 2024.

Unfortunately, you will be unable to apply to NWU while still in Grade 11 and without internet access. Applications can only be submitted the year before you plan to enrol, and only online.

North-West University NWU only accepts online applications; no paper or walk-in applications will be accepted for the January 2025 intake. Applicants seeking an undergraduate qualification are advised to apply online via the application portal at www.nwu.ac.za.

Applications for admission to undergraduate studies at North-West University (NWU) in 2025 open on April 1, 2024, and close on June 30, 2024. Please make every effort to submit your application as soon as possible. We do not accept late applications.

Documents Needed and Required to Apply to NWU

Applicants to NWU’s undergraduate programs must submit the following documents:.

A mobile phone and an active email address are required
Grade 12 results; grade 11 results (final results only) or a copy of your matriculation certificate, if you have already passed matriculation.
Applicants who are currently upgrading their grade 12 results will only be considered after the improved results are presented to the NWU.
Applicants who follow the Cambridge, GED, or any other non-NSC curriculum, or who may qualify for exemption based on advanced age or post-school qualifications, must provide an exemption certificate as issued by the USAF.
A copy of your ID
Copy of your academic record (if applicable).
A copy of your passport if you are a citizen of South Africa

Required Documents for Postgraduate Candidates

A certified copy of your SA ID document (or your passport if you are an international student).
Certified copies of academic transcripts of all qualifications obtained from other tertiary education institutions.
Certified copies of all certificates, diplomas, and degrees from other tertiary institutions.

How much are the NWU Application fees

When you apply, there is no application fee. There is an R550 fee for international students. If you choose to pay it offline before the deadline, upload proof of payment.

Application fees will not be refunded. Paying an application fee does not mean that your application will be successful.

How to Apply North-West University for 2025

If you are looking for an undergraduate degree, you can apply online. To apply online, you must have a valid email address as well as your South African identity number or, if you are an international applicant, your passport number. All postgraduate applicants must apply online rather than on paper.

Students are requested to submit their application as soon as they complete the online application. Any application that is submitted after the closing dates of any qualification will automatically be cancelled. You will still be able to add any outstanding documents after the application has been submitted

NWU Online Application Process for 2025-2026

To apply for North-West University admissions in 2025, follow the procedures below:

Navigate to the application platform online at https://vssweb.nwu.ac.za/aaa-webclient/StudentWebCommand.do?sf=143369&lng=3#/top.
When you click on Application Login, the Login screen will appear.
Complete all of the fields after clicking on Create new student number.
If you already have a university number, enter it into the portal.
When you receive a student number, log in with it and the PIN number you created. Keep your student ID and PIN secure. You’ll require it in the future.
Fill out all of the fields. Utilize the yearbooks to learn more about the qualifications, modes of delivery, and curricula.
Please include any supporting documentation. The university may reject an application if it is incomplete.
Please ensure that you press the “Submit Application” button once you have completed your application to ensure that NWU receives it.
