The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) Application Online is an online platform that allows students of South Africa to apply for financial aid from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). Because NSFAS online application will not be open after 31 January 2024, it is important to visit the NSFAS online application portal and complete the online application form at www.nsfas.org.za, submitting all required documents before the closing date (31 January 2024).

If you were previously rejected, you can reapply for NSFAS in 2024. You must go through the same application process as a new candidate, which will be open from September 28, 2023 to January 31, 2024. You can’t afford to miss it this time.

What are the Required Documents for NSFAS Online Application?

In completing the NSFAS online application form via www.nsfas.org.za, you need to have these documents ready to upload them. These documents play a very important role in securing NSFAS funding for your higher education expenses. The documents include the following

South African Identity Document (ID)
Certified copy of ID
Proof of residential address
South African Tax Number (if available)

Who qualifies For NSFAS 2024 Funding?

Please keep in mind that NSFAS allowances for books, accommodation, living expenses, and other expenditures are exclusively available to South African learners and students. Once your NSFAS application is approved, the NSFAS bursary will cover your tuition and transportation. You must, however, meet the requirements in order to get NSFAS financing. These are the:

Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
Students who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.
Having a household income of up to R350 000 combined
Prospective students of registered NSFAS universities and TVET colleges
Meet the minimum academic requirements for admission at the higher education institution you are applying to.
