Every applicant’s primary and ultimate goal should be to meet the entry requirements of North-West University. You should be aware that there are courses with less competition, and getting such a course is much more likely than getting a competitive course. Where will you stay during your studies ( Accommodation)

Accommodation is one of the challenges that university administrators face, and North-West University is no exception. Because of the large student population, it is nearly impossible to provide facilities for every student on campus. If you are unable to obtain on-campus housing, you must prepare a backup plan. How do you intend to finance your studies?

Do you have the financial means to pay for your tertiary education? If not, start looking for financial assistance. One of the options is the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). They open their applications for new and prospective students/applicants every September. Your tuition, transportation, books, and living expenses will be covered once your application is approved. NWU Manual Applications 2025-2026

All prospective applicants must apply online through the online application portal. North-West University will not accept manual applications. Remember that online applications for the academic year 2025-2026 are free of charge for applicants in South Africa.

How do you apply Online to North-West University?

If you have answered the above questions, you can begin your application online by filling out the 2024 online application form. North-West University only accepts online applications

Go to the online application platform
Click on Application Login, it will open the Login screen
Click on Create new student number and complete all the fields.
If you already have a university number, log into the portal using your details
When you receive a student number, use that together with the PIN number you created to log in. Keep your student number and PIN safe. You’ll need it in the future
Complete all the fields. Use the yearbooks to obtain more information about the qualifications, modes of delivery and curricula
Please upload the supporting documents. If the application is incomplete, it may be declined by the University
Please make sure that you press the “Submit Application” button when you have finished ensuring that NWU receives your application.

What are the Requirements during the application process at NWU?

Required Documents

During the application process, you must have the following documents ready to upload via the online application portal for 2024

Grade 12 results, grade 11 results (final results only) or a copy of your matric certificate – if you have already passed matric.
Applicants who are currently upgrading their grade 12 results, will only be considered after the improved results are presented to the NWU.
Applicants who follow Cambridge, GED or any other non-NSC curriculum, or who may qualify for exemption based on advanced age or post-school qualifications, must provide an exemption certificate as issued by USAF.
Copy of your ID
Copy of your academic record (if applicable).

Application Fee Required
