CPUT Online Application Login Open Now For 2026

Prospective students can apply online at www.cput.ac.za for the 2026 academic year at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) from May 13, 2025, to September 30, 2025, using their ID or passport number. It is essential to follow all instructions and fill out all required fields, as incomplete applications will not be accepted.

A late application period will also be available later in 2026. Applicants should make sure to meet the deadlines and adhere to the application guidelines to ensure their applications are complete and eligible for review.

What You Need to Access the CPUT Application Portal

  • All applications must be submitted online unless stated otherwise.
  • First-year and returning students must use the online application portal to complete and submit forms and required documents.
  • A smart device with internet access and a valid email address is needed to access the application portal and track admission status.
  • Applicants must provide their ID or passport number when using the CPUT application portal.
  • South African Matric students without a CPUT student number can use the Online Wizard to apply.
  • Applicants can save and return to the Online Wizard, but once an application form is submitted, they must log into the SOS System at www.cput.ac.za/students/about/sos.
  • Applicants with a CPUT student number should continue their application through the Student Online System (SOS) at www.cput.ac.za/students/about/sos.
  • It is important to submit the online application form before the deadline.

Eligibility Criteria to Use the CPUT Online Application Portal

The CPUT application portal is officially open to the following group of people:

  • Non-South African citizens
  • South African citizens with international (non-SA) qualifications
  • Applicants with permanent residency in South Africa
  • Applicants with Refugee status and Asylum Seeker permits
  • Non-SA citizens applying for RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)
  • Non-SA Returning students with a break in studies (more than 1-year break)

How to Apply Online at CPUT

To apply online to the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, follow the steps below:

  • Access the following link: http://www.cput.ac.za/study/apply
  • Choose a qualification and special requirements
  • Gather your documents or upload further/outstanding documents
  • Do not complete Step 3 – this is for manual application submissions only
  • Complete the Online Applications form
  • On the left side of the page select Step 4 to continue with the Online Application Process
  • Acceptance of POPI Act Clause
  • Verification/update of Biographical Information and Residence Required (IMPORTANT)
  • INFORMATION TO BE UPDATED)
  • Verification/updating of Applicant’s Address Information
  • Verification/updating of Applicant’s Contact Information
  • Verification/updating of Next of Kin and Address Information
  • Verification/updating of Disability Information
  • Verification/update of School Leaving Information (IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO BE
  • UPDATED)
  • Verification/update of Previous Studies (IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO BE UPDATED)
  • Submission of Academic Application and Acceptance of Rules and Regulations
  • Submission of required documentation (compulsory step)

If you applying for the 2026 intake, ensure the documents are valid and certified

Applicants from South Africa

  • Proof of your application fee payment ( An Applicant must provide a copy.)
  • Your identity document’s first page. This must be certified.
  • A copy of the senior certificate or a comparable qualification (certified). Please submit your Grade 11 grades. If you’re in Grade 12 right now,
  • Original Academic Records and a Certificate of Conduct, as well as verified copies of any other certificates, diplomas, or degrees you have previously acquired from any other higher education institution.

Foreign Applicants

  • All qualification documents
  • Academic transcripts
  • Final certificates
  • SAQA certificate (compulsory for all International applicants)
  • Passport or Refugee/Asylum Seeker Permit

CPUT Application Fee For 2026

A non-refundable R100 application fee is required before processing your application, along with a copy of the payment proof. Late applications submitted after the official closing date will incur a R150 non-refundable fee and will only be accepted if announced by the institution on its website.
