Applications for the 2026 academic year at Vaal University of Technology (VUT) are now open through the online portal. Candidates who meet the requirements can apply online or manually. The application portal, launched on May 6, 2025, will close on September 30, 2025. Prospective students are encouraged to apply early for consideration.

VUT Online Application Requirements for 2026

Before starting the online application, students from South Africa and other parts of the world must have the following documents ready and upload them, as the VUT online application is still open and taking new applications from every city in the world.

Citizen of South Africa

Certified copy of the South African identity document.
Certified copy of the final Grade 11 or any Grade 12 results.

How to Apply Online

Follow these simple steps to submit an online application to the Vaal University of Technology.

Visit www.vut.ac.za, the VUT official website.
Click the Apply tab.
Entering your biodata, including a working email address, into the field provided will generate a unique number. ( Student number and PIN)
The student number and the PIN will be sent to the email address you provided.
When you return to the application portal, use this student number to log in.
Provide your academic background
Choose your course of study for 2026
To proceed, click the Save and Continue button.
All supporting documents must be uploaded. You will be unable to proceed if you leave a document behind.
Once you’ve received the number, proceed to pay the application fee
After making your payment, applicants should complete their process by reviewing to ensure all required fields are filled out.
When you’re certain, click the submission tab to send your fully completed application form.
You will be notified once it has been successfully submitted.

VUT Application Form For 2026 (Re-admission)

Downloading the application form in hard copy and filling it out by hand with a pen is perfectly acceptable. VUT accepts applications submitted either manually or online but does not encourage faxed or emailed applications. The application form is available on the VUT website and its campus sites. No application will be accepted without certified copies of the required supporting documents.
