Regular and late applications to study at the university for the 2025–2026 academic year are now open. Prospective students can apply by completing the online application form between April 1 and August 31, 2024.

NWU Online Application Deadlines: Music Requires Audition, Others Have Dates

Applications for Northwest University online programs close at different times, depending on the program and whether selection is required.

For selection programs (graphic design, engineering, etc.), applications close on August 31st, 2024. All other programs close on June 30th, 2024, but may close earlier if they reach capacity.

Music applications close on June 30th, 2024, but applicants must also submit a video by July 10th and may be invited to further auditions in August.

Non-selection programs have no set deadline but are encouraged to apply early to avoid filling up.

Documents You Need for Your NWU Online Application

Applying to NWU Online for the 2024-2025 academic year? Make sure you have these documents ready to go (applicable to South African applicants):

Mobile phone and active email address: Essential for the application process.
Academic records:
- Grade 12 results (final) or matric certificate (if passed).
- Grade 11 results (final), if applicable.
- Upgraded Grade 12 results will be considered only after submission.
Non-standard qualifications:
- Exemption certificate for Cambridge, GED, or non-NSC curricula, or for advanced age or post-school qualifications (issued by USAF).

- A copy of your passport (if you are a South African citizen).

- Copy of your academic record.
